Unfortunately, we are all currently required to spend more time at home. What can we do with ourselves in the confine of our four walls? We have put together a list of things to do when bored to help you get through this crisis by getting productive and creative, and making your life easier even when things get back to normal. Keep reading to find out how to beat boredom!
Prepare presents for upcoming birthdays and other occasions
We usually leave it until the last minute to buy and wrap presents. Now you finally have the time to get your gifts ready ahead of time for all kinds of different occasions! You will be so glad you made the effort when you can just grab a present from your pre-prepared stash. To avoid confusion you can attach a name label to every present. You wouldn’t want grandpa to get the handmade tutu that was meant for your goddaughter! Our first tip for things to do when bored should keep you busy for a while!
Make handmade accessories for the entire family
Are your partner’s socks riddled with holes? Did your child lose a hat? Have you been wanting a new shopping bag? Then get your sewing machine and knitting needles out! Now is the time to start all the projects that you have been putting off. Add a special finishing touch to your lovingly handmade accessories with a woven or leather label with a text like “Handmade by Mom”. One more of the many things to do when bored that will not only keep you busy but that will also bring joy to others.
Forget panic buying and hoarding and start cooking instead
Another great way of overcoming boredom is to finally try your hand at those more elaborate recipes that you never had the time for. It will keep you busy and fill your belly at the same time. Cook large batches of casserole, soup or even jam, and store them in airtight containers, then label your tasty supplies with Wunderlabel stickers or hang tags.
Try something new
Do you just knit socks and scarves but have always dreamed of trying something more elaborate and interesting? Now is the time! One of the best things to do when bored is to set yourself a challenge. Try your hand at more intricate pieces and clothing, or something completely different: how about making chocolates for the first time? They will make the perfect present to take to friends and family when things have calmed down, and a lovely way to celebrate being together again. Wrap your delicious chocolates and label them with a hang tag or sticker so you´ll know what flavor they are. For a special present, tie a personalized ribbon around the chocolate box!
Spend quality time with your family
Are you usually never all home at the same time? Then use this time to create new memories. Dig out those old board games and let the fun begin! If there are any pieces missing, how about making new ones yourselves or making up your own game? Play and be creative together, and finish the box of your brand new game off by proudly displaying a picture of the inventors on a Wunderlabel sticker. This is probably our most meaningful tip on what to do when you’re bored and we really hope that you give it a try!
