The importance of fabric trends knowledge
As we all know, fabric plays a big role when it comes to fashion trends. Those fashion trends directly impact what we create or buy for our clothing, bags and shoes, just to name a few. Keeping an eye on these fabric trends gives us an edge when creating from season to season. Wunderlabel visited the Premiere Vision trade show in Istanbul this past March. This gave us a glimpse into the future for popular fabrics which will be used in the spring and summer seasons in 2020.
The hottest fabric trends for spring and summer in 2020 is not your typical
Lightweight cottons and linen. The forward thinking fabric trends for Spring and Summer 2020 are bold, exciting, and not what one would expect.
The fabric trends are focused on light and bright fabrics which put you in a good mood. Very light stretch materials, translucent materials echoing animal skins, large patterned lace, crepe knits and light woven fabrics are the highlights. These fabrics at first glance don’t seem to work well together, but as we saw at the Premiere Vision trade show, these fabrics can be transformed into light and airy looks which are perfect for summer fashion.
Print and pattern is everywhere too. From leopard to soft floral and and everything in between, pattern is being used in every aspect of design for the upcoming trends. It was hard to miss that texture and pattern were the 2 stars of the show.
