Iron on name labels are affordable, easy to apply and stay put once you attach them. Iron on labels are a great alternative to sew in labels because they are the same professional quality but can be attached in just a few minutes.
Before You Get Started:
- Please check the care label on your fabric, or make enquiries directly with the manufacturer, to make sure that it can withstand the high temperature required to iron the labels on. Delicate fabrics (silk, satin, wool etc.) and those with a low melting point (nylons, vinyls, leathers etc.) are not compatible with this product!
- Iron-on labels might not adhere to textured or very stretchy fabrics, for example canvas, fleece or jersey knits. We suggest that you ask our customer service team to send you a sample of an iron-on label if you are unsure about your chosen fabric so that you can test before you buy.
- Wash and iron your garment / fabric before you begin.
- Have silicone parchment paper or unwaxed baking paper on hand. This is a must for the application: do not iron directly on the labels!
- Keep in mind that every iron is different: always start on a medium heat and only increase the temperature if the labels are not sticking (and the type of fabric you are using will allow it!)
Step by step instructions - Customise your iron on name labels
How to apply iron on name labels?
To ensure your iron on name labels look great and last a long time, proper adhesion is key. This is easily done by following
a few simple steps. Let's get started!
Set iron to medium/high heat and turn off the steam setting. Let the iron heat up fully as it needs to be warm enough to activate the adhesive.
Place the garment flat on an ironing board with the area you wish to add the iron on name label easily accessible. Make sure that the fabric is as smooth and wrinkle-free as possible.
Remove the paper backing off of the iron on label or peel it off the paper backing, depending on the label.
Position the iron on name label, adhesive side down, onto the garment and cover with a sheet of parchment paper. Do not use a tea towel or ironing / pressing cloth: they will prevent the adhesive from warming up sufficiently.
Using a circular motion and steady pressure, iron on top of the parchment paper for 10-15 seconds. Check the label edges. If the edges have not fully adhered, reposition the parchment paper and iron for another 5 seconds. Be careful: prolonged application of heat may cause burns or discolouration of your fabric.
Keep in mind
The special adhesive used on our iron-on name labels continues to cure after it has been applied. Please do not wash garments with newly applied labels for 24 hours.
The labels are washing machine and tumble dryer safe. For best results, wash them at 30°C or lower and tumble dry on low heat.
Should the iron on labels start to lift after multiple washings, simply cover with a sheet of parchment paper and iron to reactivate the adhesive. If for any reason you wish to remove the iron-on labels then please follow the instructions on our blog.

- Colour: Choose one of 27 label colours available and the Pure Colour option if applicable. You should then tick the box “Iron On”.
- Text: Enter up to 3 lines of text and choose the alignment (right, center or left). Select a font and a text colour. With the sparkling text labels there is a choice of 4 metallic colours.
- Frame: If only have 1 to 2 rows of text then you can also add a frame.
- Symbol: You can choose from one of over 300 symbols to match your needs.

- Label: If you need an iron on label then the folded label option is not available: Please select “Standard Label”. Then proceed to enter the required dimensions. Please skip the Taffeta step as this is not an option with iron on labels.
- Upload: In this step you can upload your own design or artwork with up to 6 colours.
- Colour: Here you will find a range of Pantone colours and the “Pure Colour” option should you need it. Make sure to tick the box “Iron On” before you proceed to the next step.
