DTF Print Material

DTF print material provides an excellent option for textile printing businesses, offering high quality and flexibility in garment design. The technology allows complex designs and fine details to be printed on a wide variety of fabrics, making it ideal for professional printing needs. DTF transfer iron-on images are also very resistant and durable, fulfilling the high demands of textile printing.

What Is DTF Print?

Simply put, DTF print is a design that can be directly ironed (transferred) onto fabrics. DTF stands for “direct-to-film”, referencing the part of the production process where ink is directly applied to a transfer film.

DTF transfer is very popular for T-shirts and other clothing, as well as accessories. In our opinion, the DTF printing method is vastly superior to other printing methods, such as heat transfer vinyl or screen printing: It just looks, feels and stays on so much better! Even after multiple washes there is no cracking or peeling because the soft and flexible transfer is bonded to the fabric. The colours stay vibrant and saturated. And DTF transfers can be used on a range of fabrics such as cotton, polyester, linen and even leather!

DTF Print Transfer Uses

DTF print is incredibly versatile and straightforward. The combination of high resolution printing with CMYKW colours means that almost any design can be transformed into an iron-on print: Text, logos, artwork and even photographs.
The transfers are quick and easy to apply at home or in a professional setting whether you are using a standard household iron or an industrial heat press, and can be applied to light as well as dark fabrics.

DTF prints can be designed for a variety of items and occasions. Here are just a few examples and ideas:

  • T-shirts, sweatshirts & other clothing:

DTF printing is very often used to personalise t-shirts but it can also be used on other garments. Use transfers for your fashion line, put a logo on workwear or create a design for a special occasion (think stag parties, bridal and baby showers, anniversaries and more!).

  • Accessories & furnishings:

Customise clothing accessories, home furnishings and other textiles. Bags, hats, cushion covers, table cloths: Anything goes with easy to apply DTF print transfers, even smaller items or those with “difficult” shapes like slippers, baseball hats or cup sleeves.

  • Clothing tags:

DTF printing can be used instead of traditional textile labels. Apply designs to the inside of clothing to display care instructions, material composition and sizing. No sewing required and no risk of irritating sensitive skins with an itchy neck tag!

  • Branding:

Use DTF print to show off your logo, not only on the products that you sell but also on promotional items at events and fairs. Gift bags, banners, flags and more can be personalised with DTF print transfers.

DTF Print: Material and Production

As long as you have the right equipment and materials, DTF print transfers are quick and easy to produce. A special software is used to edit the digital design before feeding it to the printer. Here the design is printed onto the transfer film with a specially formulated UV ink.
